Bedside Tool Interface Configuration

Estimates 1-year major bleeding risk for oral anticoagulation in atrial fibrillation.

Algorithm Checklist Parameters:
  • Hypertension (SBP > 160 mmHg)
  • Abnormal Renal Function (Dialysis, transplant, or Cr ≥ 2.26 mg/dL)
  • Abnormal Liver Function (Cirrhosis, bilirubin > 2x, or LFTs > 3x normal)
  • Prior history of stroke/TIA
  • Prior major bleeding or bleeding predisposition
  • Labile INRs (time in therapeutic range < 60%)
  • Elderly (Age ≥ 65 years)
  • Aspirin, Clopidogrel, or NSAIDs
  • Alcohol abuse (≥ 8 drinks per week)

Primary Clinical Application:

Assess risk-benefit of anticoagulation therapy and optimize modifiable bleeding factors.
