Applies International Headache Society (IHS) criteria to diagnose migraine with or without aura.

Algorithm Checklist Parameters:
  • Headaches or attacks typically last 4 to 72 hours (untreated)
  • Headache location is typically unilateral (one-sided)
  • Pulsating or throbbing quality of pain
  • Pain is moderate to severe, limiting daily performance
  • Accompanied by either nausea/vomiting OR photophobia/phonophobia

Provides precise coding and diagnostic reassurance to rule out secondary tensions.
