Algorithm Checklist Parameters:
  • Patient Age (years)
  • Biological Sex is Male (+10 Full index)
  • Active Cancer / Neoplastic disease (+30 Full, +1 sPESI)
  • History of Heart Failure (+10 Full, +1 sPESI combined with COPD)
  • Chronic Lung Disease / COPD (+10 Full, +1 sPESI combined with Heart Failure)
  • Pulse Rate ≥ 110 beats per minute (+20 Full, +1 sPESI)
  • Systolic Blood Pressure < 100 mmHg (+30 Full, +1 sPESI)
  • Respiratory Rate ≥ 30 breaths per minute (+20 Full)
  • Temperature < 36°C / 96.8°F (+20 Full)
  • Altered Mental Status / Confusion (+60 Full)
  • Oxygen Saturation SpOâ‚‚ < 90% (+20 Full, +1 sPESI)

Guides risk assessment and determines candidates for safe early-discharge/home outpatient management of acute PE.
